Our history

A beacon on Quincy's skyline

Bethany first gathered in 1832 as the Evangelical Society of Quincy, with 21 charter members. Our present church, built of solid Quincy granite in 1927, is English Gothic in style, and its 120 foot tower with carved grotesques has watched over Quincy Center since 1928. In 1989 the church was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
